Hello my beauties! I hope you guys are having an amazingly wonderful day! My last post was a soft, natural makeup look. Well today we are all about getting glamorous! We are going full glam today, and we are not holding anything back! Lets jump right on in to this post!
When I am doing a look like this one I ALWAYS begin with my eyes. The reason I do this is because I do not want the fallout all over my base makeup, and if I mess up I don’t have to re-do everything!
I ALWAYS prime my eyelids first. No matter what look I am doing, I prime them! To prime I used my Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. After I blended it out, I set it using my Airspun Translucent Powder.
For this look I’m going to be using the Morphe 15n palette, Colourpop single shadows in Going Steady & Stay Golden. I’m also going to use their super shock shadow in I <3 This. I started off by blending the shade Selfie in my crease. You can build this shade up as much or as little as you would like. It is all about your preference. Next I took the color Cliché and started to blend that right below that Selfie color.
To further deepen up the crease we are going to jump to our two Colourpop shadows. First take Stay Golden and blend that in your crease. This is such a gorgeous shade, and I really love to build this color up before I put my next color on! After you are done blending out that shade start building up the shade Going Steady. You really want to darken up that crease, but you don’t want to have any harsh lines or patchiness. After we are all nice and blended out, its time to clean our lid space up.
Take your concealer from earlier, and start carving out your crease. We are not doing a cut crease, but we just want to have our lid space cleaned up so we can add our sparkle! Once we are all nice and cleaned up, we are going to set that with our Colourpop super shock shadow in the shade I <3 This. This adds such a pretty metallic shine to our eye, and brightens up this look! If you want to be super extra like I am then you can add even more of a highlight to your eye. I took the Smashbox Spotlight Palette in Pearl and I added the lightest shade over top of my Colourpop shadow! This just makes it more glitzy, and glamourous!
I feel like this look just doesn’t look right until we get our base makeup on! So lets jump right into it!
To start off we need to prime! This is such an important step to make your makeup last all night long! Tp prime my skin I used:
- Soap and Glory One Heck Of A Blot
- Smashbox Primer Water
After my primer has sunk into my skin I move onto foundation. If you remember in my last post I talked about making a little foundation cocktail. For my foundations I use:
- Tarte Shape Tape Foundation
- L.A. Girl Pro Matte Foundation
I use a damp beauty sponge to blend out my foundation. A brush works to, but in my eyes a damp sponge does the job a lot better. It helps soak up any excess product, and it does not leave my face looking streaky, or cakey.
Lets move onto one of my favorite parts. Its concealer time! When you have a dark smokey eye, you want to make sure you have a nice and bright under eye. That way it does not look like you have raccoon eyes. I use the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. This concealer is so full coverage, and covers everything! I take my damp sponge and make sure it is completely blended out, before I set it with powder!
For powder I use the Airspun Loose Face Powder. I put my damp sponge in the powder and start pressing it into my skin, to make sure my concealer does not crease! Creasing is BAD! Once I set my under eyes I like to set the rest of my base. I take that same powder and just dip my sponge in it and start pressing that powder all over my face. Making sure i press it into the skin to make sure it is set! This leaves me with flawless base for the rest of our face products we use!
Before we finish our face lets jump up to our brows! I am not much of a brow person. I’m really simple when it comes to my brows, but you can go as dramatic as you want with them. All I did was lightly fill in my brows, and lightly outlined them. They are done, just not as dramatic as the rest of our look is. The products I used were:
- Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer
- Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow gel
Now that are brows are done lets move back to the face before we finish our eyes!
We need to bronze up or skin! For this I used my Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. I bronzed the outer perimeter of my face. Once done it is time to contour! To contour my cheek bones and nose I use my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette. I’m in the shade light to medium. I take the middle contour shade and start carving out my cheek bones. I like to also very lightly contour my nose.
For blush I used Mary Kay baked blush in the shade Strawberry Cream. I just light brush my cheeks to give them a little bit of color.
Then for highlight we are going to use the same Smashbox palette from earlier! I use the lightest shade and dust it over the top of my cheek bones. Down the bridge of my nose, and over my cupids bow. When I finish my highlighter I like to set my face. I just use the primer water to lock everything in.
Now that our face is completely done lets go ahead and finish off the eyes! For mascara I use Tarte’s Light, Camera, Lashes. This coats all of my lashes without them getting clumpy and heavy.
I like to take the shades Going Steady & Stay Golden and run them on my lower lash line.
In my water line I take Tarte’s Sex Kitten eyeliner in the shade black, and just ran that in my waterline. I use the same mascara and just run that through my bottom lashes.
Last but not least its time for the lips! To outline my lips I used Wet N Wild gel lip liner in Bare To Comment. I use this color to also fill in my lips. For my lipstick I used Too Faced Melted Chocolate Lipstick in Chocolate Cherries. This is a beautiful shade but I wanted a little shine to it so I used Wet N Wild Mega last liquid catsuit metallic lipstick in Ride On My Copper.
This is the finished look guys! I hope you have enjoyed this look!
Until my next post!
Bye my beauties.
